As of July, Broner is ranked the fourth Best Light Welterweight by the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board with a record of 38 total fights, 33 wins, 3 losses, 1 draw and 1 no contest. Out of the 38 fights, 24 of those fights were won by a KO. Broner is only 29 years old.

Adrien Broner according to Buboy Fernandez Pacquaio’s current trainer Broner is 95% a runner on the ring and has many fighting style similarities with Floyd Mayweather. Calling it a good fight which Manny will win. He stated in Filipino, “Hindi naman kasi lahat na fighter pareho pareho. Ibang kalaban iba ang style gagawin natin (Not all fighters are the same, they all have different styles, so depending on the fighter we will also use different styles).”

The Philippine senator’s controversial defeat to Jeff Horn in July 2017 made many boxing fans question his age, health, and his boxing career. Pacquiao currently holds the title, “WBA (regular) welterweight champion (as of July 2018) claiming a seventh-round victory against Lucas Matthysse in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Fans would like to see a re-match between retired boxer Floyd Mayweather. If the Philippine boxing Senator is defeated by Adrien Broner who happens to fight like Mayweather will stir some questions about his health & endurance. But some Floyd Mayweather fans are now beginning to question Manny’s endurance and speed, now that he’s much older. Even more, so that Freddie Roach stepped down as his lead trainer.

Buboy Fernandez who assumed the responsibility as Pacquaio’s trainer was met with debate. To his defense, Fernandez has been behind the scenes while Freddie Roach turned Manny Pacquaio, a skinny boxer from General Santos City, Philippines to one of the greatest boxers in history. Fernandez was vindicated as an effective trainer when the camp won against Mythhiass this past July without Roach. When asked about Pacquaio’s health and age Fernandez states, “it’s only a number.” Rumors state that after this decisive fight against Adrien Broner. It will set the tone for the long-awaited rematch in May, June or July of 2019 against Floyd Mayweather.
